The story of Samson and Delilah is a story of passion, revenge, brutality, and lust, but what about the people who get caught in the crossfires of these two colliding supernovas? "bystanders" is the story of Samson and Delilah as told through the lens of the common people. Manoah, a youth of 18 is caught in between the two demagogues in a love triangle and between the love of his Israelite and Philistine grandmothers, now pitted against one another. He is forced to choose.
The play originated as a 15 minute play in the Labyrinth Intensive Ensemble and is now in development for a 90 minute version. Both are available upon request.
